Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work environment, allowing you to deliver care to clients in a manner that is convenient for them. Our team operates with a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the understanding that occasional flexibility may be required to meet patient needs. You will utilize various digital platforms for consultations and follow-ups, ensuring that clients receive prompt and effective support regardless of their location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations to identify client needs, using client-centric tools and techniques to guide your assessment.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans incorporating solution-focused and evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to address individual client concerns.
  • Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards to safeguard client privacy and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to provide integrated care to clients.
  • Participate in routine case consultations and peer review sessions aimed at enhancing therapeutic approaches and treatment outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding mental health concerns, available treatment options, and community resources to empower informed decision-making.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in mental health to continually refine practices and increase the effectiveness of interventions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Firefly Support Groups Counseling Center, you will work predominantly with a diverse patient population, including individuals coping with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health challenges. Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds, reflecting the multicultural fabric of the Laredo community. You will take an empathetic and culturally sensitive approach to understand their unique experiences and tailor your therapeutic strategies accordingly.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Current, active licensure to practice in Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist.
  • Proven expertise in utilizing solution-focused psychotherapy methods and an ability to adapt approaches to best meet individual client needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen ability to remain calm and responsive to client emergencies.
  • A commitment to working collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating respect for the contributions of all team members.
Preferred Experience

Experience in a community health setting or with underserved populations is highly valued.
