The Healing Mind and Soul Center is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our committed team. This full-time remote position caters to the unique needs of children and families facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges across Naperville, Illinois. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Healing Mind and Soul Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the needs of children in their own homes or in our outpatient center.
• Implementing therapeutic techniques aimed at anger management, emotional coping strategies, and social skills development.
• Addressing high-risk behaviors—such as self-injurious actions or physical aggression—through effective intervention strategies.
• Enhancing the decision-making abilities of youth and caregivers to better manage behavioral challenges in home environments.
• Collaborating closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and coordinating with professionals across various disciplines to ensure comprehensive support.
• Completing necessary documentation including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely fashion.
• Participating in monthly meetings to share insights and recommendations related to client care.

Your primary focus will be on assisting children ages 3 to 20 who are facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work closely with their families, helping to navigate the complexity of behavioral and emotional challenges that affect their daily lives. The population served is diverse, including bilingual clients (Spanish and Portuguese) which enriches our approach to therapy and supports our commitment to community inclusivity.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours of 4-7 pm, with an openness to weekend work.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations.
• Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

While not mandatory, the following experiences are highly desirable:

• Experience in providing positive behavior support techniques in therapeutic settings.
• Previous work with children and adolescents diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
