How do remote aerospace engineers effectively collaborate with on-site teams during complex projects?

Remote aerospace engineers typically use a variety of digital tools—such as video conferencing, collaborative CAD platforms, and project management software—to stay connected with on-site teams. Regular virtual meetings and clear documentation help ensure everyone is aligned on project milestones and technical requirements. While working remotely can pose challenges, such as limited access to physical prototypes or lab equipment, strong communication skills and proactive scheduling of virtual check-ins help bridge the gap. Many organizations also facilitate occasional in-person visits for critical design reviews or testing phases to maintain seamless collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote aerospace engineer?

To thrive as a Remote Aerospace Engineer, you need a strong background in aerospace engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and typically a bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (like CATIA or SolidWorks), simulation tools (such as MATLAB or ANSYS), and familiarity with industry standards are crucial, along with certifications like a Professional Engineer (PE) license being advantageous. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time management skills help remote engineers collaborate effectively and stay productive without direct supervision. These skills and qualities are vital for delivering innovative, accurate solutions and ensuring successful project outcomes in a distributed work environment.

What is remote aerospace engineering?

Remote aerospace engineering involves performing aerospace engineering tasks—such as designing, analyzing, testing, and managing aerospace systems—from a location outside of a traditional office or laboratory, typically via digital collaboration tools. Remote aerospace engineers may work on aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, or related systems and often use specialized software to simulate and analyze designs. This setup enables flexibility and access to global talent while maintaining high standards of security and communication. Many aerospace companies now offer remote or hybrid positions in response to advances in technology and changing workplace trends.

We’re seeking a highly skilled Oracle Cloud engineer who is energized by solving complex technical challenges and building cloud solutions that scale. This role is deeply hands-on, blending architectural vision with practical engineering execution. You’ll design, build, secure, and optimize our OCI Platform using Oracle Policy, Role Based Access, OCI Recipes, and OCI Functions, in modern DevOps and automated OCI Environment. You’ll work as part of a team of OCI engineers, collaborating closely to drive cloud innovation and deliver high-quality solutions for our internal customers.

What You Will Do

In this Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) role, you’ll help shape strategy, operational direction, and apply hands-on OCI Network and Infrastructure engineering to drive real impact across our Oracle Cloud Platform.

  • Design and develop core OCI landing zone automation to support scalable, secure, and compliant cloud environments. Implement centralized landing zone management using OCI-native services such as Cloud Guard, Logging, Audit, and Identity domains.

  • Infrastructure as Code Development: Build and maintain OCI infrastructure using Terraform, Oracle Cloud CLI, Ansible, and API integrations. Develop reusable modules, manage version-controlled deployments, and support environment-specific configurations.

  • Drive a self-service, automation-first mindset to empower stakeholders with secure, scalable, and efficient cloud deployment capabilities. Providing automation for self-service provisioning and management across both traditional IaaS workloads and modern serverless applications.

  • Experience designing, implementing, and automating OCI networking architectures; Hands on experience with Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, route tables, security lists, and Network Security Groups (NSGs) to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance connectivity; Demonstratable experience with gateways such as Internet Gateways, NAT Gateways, Service Gateways, and Dynamic Routing Gateways (DRGs) for hub-and-spoke topologies, VCN peering, and hybrid connectivity with on-premises networks via FastConnect or VPN.

  • Design and implement automated guardrails to enforce security and configuration standards across OCI environments; Develop deployment automation and auto-remediation workflows using OCI Cloud Guard, Functions, and IAM policies; Build critical event detection and notification systems leveraging OCI Monitoring (detectors and responders), Logging, and Alarms to ensure rapid response to anomalies and misconfigurations.

  • Experience implementing least privilege access controls using OCI IAM policies, dynamic groups, and compartment hierarchies to restrict resource permissions effectively; Hands-on work integrating OCI Identity Domains with enterprise identity systems such as Active Directory or LDAP through federation protocols, SCIM provisioning, and identity bridges for seamless user lifecycle management; Proven skills configuring cloud-native access patterns including federated SSO, multi-factor authentication enforcement, and API gateway authorizations within OCI environments.

  • Ensure OCI services comply with internal security policies and external standards such as NIST 800-53, CMMC, and other regulatory frameworks.

  • Integrate OCI with enterprise networks and core IT services to ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, document procedures, and recommend architectural improvements to enhance reliability and performance.

 Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
