South Shore Behavioral Health Center is a premier outpatient psychiatry facility located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Our practice emphasizes the importance of culturally sensitive mental health services, aiming to create a supportive atmosphere that fosters well-being and resilience.

This position operates in a fully remote and telehealth-based setting, allowing mental health professionals to deliver care without geographical limitations. You will engage with a diverse patient population through video conferencing platforms, ensuring that therapy remains accessible and effective. Flexible work hours are designed to accommodate patient schedules and needs, typically ranging from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

• Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments that inform individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique experiences and backgrounds of each patient.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ensuring they are appropriate for the patient's cultural and personal circumstances.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that promote emotional healing and resilience. For instance, leading group sessions for LBGTQ+ youth to discuss identity challenges.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each patient’s care.
• Conduct crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, providing immediate and supportive responses to ensure patient safety.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources, helping them navigate their healing journey.
• Document patient interactions and treatment efforts meticulously, adhering to legal and ethical standards in confidentiality and data protection.
• Participate actively in case conferences and team meetings, contributing insights and experiences to enhance care strategies.
• Remain informed about the latest research and cultural competencies in mental health therapy to continuously improve service delivery.

You will work closely with ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrants, addressing unique mental health challenges faced by these groups. Your expertise will help dismantle barriers to access and promote inclusive care, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
• A current and valid clinical license such as LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Nevada.
• A profound understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Demonstrated experience providing therapy in culturally responsive ways, ensuring a supportive and effective therapeutic environment.
• Exceptionally strong crisis intervention abilities, with the capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate rapport-building with diverse patients.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and adeptness in using relevant computer applications.
• Possession of a high degree of professionalism, adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining confidentiality.
• A collaborative spirit that fosters teamwork across multidisciplinary care settings.

• Prior experience in a telehealth setting is a plus, along with demonstrated success in outreach to underserved communities.
• Fluency in a second language may be advantageous in providing culturally relevant support to diverse patient populations.
• Experience in community mental health settings will be considered beneficial.

The South Shore Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, based on your experience and qualifications.
