SUMMARY:

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in a job well done? As our Maintenance Associate, you'll be one of our go-to experts, ensuring our residents always feel at home by maintaining the company's properties to make them attractive and always functional for resident and staff use. You'll be supporting the full lifecycle of property care. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintenance and repair of minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment; troubleshooting and repairing minor HVAC problems; painting, remodeling and carpentry work; general maintenance; and preventive maintenance programs. You will work independently, and with staff, with minimal supervision to perform and complete the assigned daily responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and guiding principles of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to the Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.
  • Follows established policies and procedures to ensure optimal operation, maintenance, and condition of the facility's grounds, physical plant, mechanical equipment, electronic equipment, and software databases. Perform and complete the assigned daily responsibilities of the Maintenance Department utilizing skills such as minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, wall repair, painting and computer skills. Uses hand and power tools when needed. Make regular rounds of the facility inside and out, taking note of maintenance and safety problems and makes recommendations for repairs. Carries out maintenance services according to established timeframes, in a thoughtful, efficient, safe, and professional manner. Maintains safe, clean and orderly work areas. Maintain logs of services provided, materials used, time spent, and maintenance performed, through established documentation requirements.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards, including but not limited to CARF/CCAC, Life safety, DPH, CMS, EOEA, OSHA, and NFPA. Implement corrective action and preventive measures. Assist with Maintaining department. records, etc.
  • Communicate, respond, and cooperate effectively with: Facilities Director, Maintenance Supervisor, Marketing, all other staff, residents, contractors, vendors etc., with regard to all projects or repair details, including quality of workmanship, materials needed, timeline for completion, punch lists, resident requests, etc.
  • Participates as an active member of MassMap. Participates in fire drills, safety evacuation programs, in-services and other required training.
QUALIFICATIONS:Required Education:
  • High School Diploma / Trade school or equivalent
Preferred Education:
  • Associates Degree in related field or Technical School Certificate
Required Experience:
  • 2 years' experience in Facility Maintenance
Preferred Experience:
  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience
Skills/Competencies:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following:

  • Analytical skills, computer proficiency, attention to detail and quality control.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and
  • appliances.
  • The ability to perform major and minor carpentry work.
  • The ability to repair and paint walls, ceilings, doors etc.
