BASIC FUNCTION

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production, ordering and inventory of the kitchen.

Location: Benchmark Hospitality at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center

Status: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $22 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work with Chefs and food buyers on pricing, ordering & delivery terms in a cost-effective manner.
  • Orders all items in procurement system & communicates purchases with Chefs and food buyers in a timely manner.
  • Support Chefs in operations of order control and inventory rotation.
  • Receives and stocks all products in the kitchen.
  • Ensures quality of product.
  • Make menu suggestion to chef based on death stock and extra inventory.
  • Conduct and organize monthly inventory of all on-hand food items.
  • Update pricing on inventory spreadsheet every quarter.
  • Keep all kitchen freezers and walk-ins organized and clean.
  • Maintain pars of all food items, inputting orders as required.
  • Ensure that all food safety standards are up-to-date and enforced within the kitchen.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two years food and beverage materials receiving, or food buying experience required.
  • Strong general food knowledge.
  • Culinary internship, apprenticeship or degree preferred.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Teams and OneNote desirable.
  • Experience working with purchasing req system desired.
  • Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position required.
