Job description

Introduction
Our client is an independently owned hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a small animal practice providing high-quality care to dogs and cats, with openness to introducing additional species based on a candidate's interests.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm. The clinic is open one Saturday per month from 7:30am to 12:00pm, and is closed on Sundays. The role is full-time at 40 hours per week or part-time with a minimum of 28 hours. The typical schedule is 7:30am to 5:00pm with a two-hour break, across a four-day work week, with one Saturday per month. Surgeries are performed in the morning and scheduled based on doctor capacity.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves providing comprehensive veterinary care including wellness exams, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and emergency care during normal hours. Responsibilities include managing appointments of varying lengths depending on case type, performing surgeries, and building strong relationships with clients through high-quality, personalised care. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, and non-surgical DVMs will also be considered.

Practice Details
The practice focuses on high-quality medicine and strong client relationships, with an emphasis on personalised care and open communication. Facilities and equipment include ultrasound, digital radiology, laser therapy, upper GI endoscopy and rhinoscopy, acupuncture, in-house IDEXX laboratories, Zoetis Imagyst fecal analyzers, and electronic medical records. The hospital provides wellness services, diagnostic services, dental care, surgery, grooming, emergency care, and laser therapy. It has been established since 2016 and is an award-winning hospital, recognised as best hospital and best veterinarian for six consecutive years in the county. Appointment times are structured to support thorough care, and doctors typically see a manageable caseload.

Team
The team currently consists of two DVMs, with a 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio, fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment.

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
