About the Role

Hall Prangle is seeking to hire a full-time associate in its Chicago office who has between 3-6 years experience as a practicing litigator, ideally with a background in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or healthcare law. Associates will work with small teams of attorneys and paralegals, led by seasoned trial attorneys with proven track records, all working collaboratively to efficiently provide our clients with the best possible results. The right candidate will be skilled and hard-working as well as pleasant and personable. 


Responsibilities 

Provide legal counsel and representation to the firm's clients from pre-trial through trial

Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, written discovery, and agreements

Attend court hearings, depositions, trials, and client meetings

Conduct legal research and case analysis

Collaborate with senior associates and partners on case strategy 

Contribute to business development and client relationship management


What You will Need to Succeed

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Active membership in the Illinois State Bar

3-6 years' experience in the defense of medical malpractice cases or practicing healthcare law 

Strong understanding of State and Federal court rules and procedures

Strong litigation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Excellent legal research and writing skills

Exceptional oral and written communication
