Our mission is to provide innovative and reliable security solutions that help protect people, property, and assets. We are looking for a talented and customer-focused Security and AV Service Technician to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The Security and AV Service Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining security systems for our customers. This includes responding to service calls, diagnosing system issues, performing repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring optimal system performance. The technician will work with various security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, AV and alarm systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Service & Troubleshooting: Respond to service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, etc.).
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and testing of security systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by clearly communicating issues, solutions, and system performance to clients.
  • System Upgrades: Recommend and implement system upgrades or improvements when needed to enhance security system performance.
  • Documentation: Accurately document service calls, repairs, and system tests, ensuring that all work is recorded in service reports and company databases.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all work complies with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to customers and junior technicians as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for on-call support for emergency service calls and system failures as required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in security system service, including troubleshooting and maintenance of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of security system hardware and software, including knowledge of Genetec, AXIS Communications, Alarm.com, Liftmaster, PDK, DMP, Savant, or similar platforms.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and repair system issues.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and document service work effectively.
  • Travel: This position requires travel to customer job sites up to 40% of the time. Travel may include local and out-of-town assignments, with occasional overnight stays, based on project schedules and customer needs.
  • Certifications: Private Security License a plus
  • Driving License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with IP-based security systems and networks.
  • Knowledge of current security technologies and trends.
  • Previous experience working in a field service role or as a technician for a security company.
