Job description

Reliability Engineer
General Description
The Reliability Engineer supports equipment and process reliability initiatives at Artiflex Manufacturing. This position works closely with maintenance technicians, production, and the engineering team to ensure optimal equipment performance, reduce unplanned downtime, and implement preventive maintenance strategies. The Reliability Engineer also assists with planning and executing new equipment installations and process improvement projects. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Support and follow the Company Safety Program.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose root causes of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues.
  • Work directly with maintenance technicians to resolve recurring downtime problems.
  • Develop, schedule, and implement preventive maintenance (PM) plans for production equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to launch and integrate new equipment or process projects.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and process efficiency.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or 5+ years of experience in equipment reliability, maintenance, or process improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Keyence, Sick).
  • Experience programming, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • AutoCAD electrical design and panel building experience.
  • Experience in automotive stamping (hydraulic amp; mechanical presses).
  • Familiar with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of robotics and applications (FANUC).
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a medium-paced environment.

Supports Artiflex Manufacturing – Wooster Ohio.
Equipment Used
Personal computer with appropriate engineering and office software, PLC programming tools, electrical test equipment, and standard shop tools.
