Electrification Engineer
Location: Oshkosh, WI (Hybrid - 2 Days Remote Based on Business Needs)
Job Type: Contract (6 Months with Potential Contract-to-Hire)
Pay Rate: $58.00 - $64.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, General Business Hours
Start Date: ASAP

About the Opportunity: Our client is seeking an Electrification Engineer to support the design and development of high-voltage electrical systems for next-generation heavy-duty vehicles. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge electrification technologies, including high-voltage systems, power electronics, energy storage, and vehicle controls. The ideal candidate has handsโ€‘on electrification experience, strong engineering fundamentals, and enjoys collaborating with crossโ€‘functional teams to develop innovative vehicle solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support high-voltage electrical systems and subsystems for heavyโ€‘duty vehicles.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and technical investigations.
  • Assist with the design and integration of electrical components into new and existing vehicle platforms.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, documentation, change notices, and design records.
  • Support prototype builds, pilot production, and manufacturing activities by troubleshooting electrical system issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders throughout the product development process.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Assist with engineering analysis and component selection.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering process enhancements.
  • Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle electrification or highโ€‘voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Professional attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 to 10 years of electrification experience (up to 15 years considered).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for automotive, heavyโ€‘duty vehicle, or similar applications.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.
  • Experience with Controller Area Network (CAN) and SAE J1939 communication protocols.
  • Automotive High Voltage training or certifications.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, electric machines, and energy storage systems.
