Back of House Clerk
Reports To: Store Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Department: Retail Operations
Location: Gilbert, Arizona
Pay Range: $20.00
Position Summary
The Back of House (BOH) Clerk is responsible for supporting daily dispensary operations through inventory management, product organization, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role ensures all products are accurately received, labeled, stored, rotated, and prepared to support smooth retail operations and an exceptional patient experience.
The BOH Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining compliant back-of-house procedures, supporting inventory accuracy, and assisting multiple departments in a fast-paced cannabis retail environment. Responsibilities
Inventory & Product Management
  • Receive, organize, and stock incoming product shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all products are properly labeled, counted, stored, and rotated according to company procedures and compliance standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies, damaged products, or shortages to leadership.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, audits, and product transfers.
  • Support order fulfillment and restocking efforts to maintain operational flow.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory tracking systems.
Organization & Compliance
  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant storage areas at all times.
  • Ensure back-of-house operations comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and state cannabis regulations.
  • Assist in preparing products for the sales floor while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  • Follow proper product handling procedures to minimize loss, spoilage, or inventory errors.
  • Support operational readiness by ensuring supplies and inventory are properly maintained.
Team Support & Operations
  • Provide back-of-house support to multiple departments in a high-volume retail environment.
  • Prioritize daily tasks effectively to support operational needs and workflow efficiency.
  • Communicate inventory concerns and operational updates clearly with leadership and team members.
  • Assist management with daily operational tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in retail, warehouse, inventory, or cannabis operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory or POS systems preferred.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to obtain a Facility Agent Card in Florida.
  • Must pass a background check and fingerprint clearance with OMMU.
Education and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical inventory and stocking tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for handling cannabis products and inventory operations.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced retail dispensary setting with moderate noise and frequent movement.
  • PPE and safety protocols may be required in designated areas.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel between store locations may be required.
