Job description

Overview

The Sr. Relationship Banker is an essential part of the retail team. In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to get to know Coastal’s customers and attract new customers while helping them reach their financial goals. Whether providing support during a busy day at the branch or offering suggestions for products that fit their needs, you'll have the chance to make a real difference in people's lives. And as the retail industry evolves, you'll have the opportunity to grow along with it, learning new skills and adding value to the team.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Sr. Relationship Banker are providing world‑class customer service, identifying customer needs and providing them with the appropriate services and products, and engaging with prospective clients. The Sr. Relationship Banker will work closely with their Bank Center Management and teams across the organization to help customers meet their financial goals. In this role, you’ll assist with more complex products, such as consumer loans and cash management accounts. You’ll also be able to participate in community and industry events to represent Coastal.

How You’ll Do It
  • Provide customer service per Coastal's Core Values.
  • Interview and assess customer and non‑customer needs and suggest appropriate products or services.
  • Communicate with customers in the branch, over the phone, or during personal visits to local businesses.
  • Outside sales calling is required and determined by Bank Center Management.
  • Conduct customer phone follow‑ups and actively raise customer awareness of bank products and services. These activities may have a standard of frequency set by branch management.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking and following up on customer needs and tracking monthly production to the branch goals.
  • Provide customer referrals to Treasury Management, Commercial, and Consumer Lending, Cash Management, and Real Estate Lending.
  • Provide timely resolution and follow through on customer issues and concerns.
  • Complete required account documentation according to bank guidelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of banking rules and regulations and complete monthly online training.
  • Actively work a book of customers to build relationships, grow the book's value according to goals and keep a firm grasp on customer retention. This may also include relationship reviews with other internal teams.
  • Represent Coastal positively and professionally.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Follow and comply with all regulatory and compliance regulations.
Qualifications
  • General understanding of the digital payment processing environment.
  • Outgoing, professional attitude with customers, prospects, and co‑workers.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Handle multiple tasks at the same time.
  • PC experience navigating in a Windows environment and using various applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience selling financial products.
  • Previous experience growing and developing an existing customer base.
  • Production generation experience preferred.
  • Basic internet skills.
Education / Experience

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school preferred. Three to five years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
