Job description

The Military Affairs Specialist is an active member of a centralized team for all campuses, with the processing of all military benefits. The Military Affairs Specialist aids in reviewing and auditing VA files in both internal and external sites and provides coaching to the Keiser University campuses when needed.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Certifies GI Bill® educational benefits in accordance with all federal and state regulations.Processes all Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) for active duty students.Audits student files in the University, DOD, and VA database systems.Provides recommendations to the campuses for counseling military connected students on their benefits, as needed.Reviews and approves student stipends per the approved University policy.Identifies process updates and works to implement as needed.Provides campuses with benefit overviews to educate students on benefits (how they are paid).Works with campus POCs to support the military connected student.Reaches out to students to provide assistance where needed.Communicates to VA and DOD for school or student debt clarification.Answers inbound calls and e-mails from campuses to help support military connected students.Assists with payment reviews/postings.Assists campuses in preparing for a VA Compliance Survey. The Military Affairs Specialist must have the minimum of an Associate's Degree. Veteran preferred.
