Job description

Summary: Under general supervision and according to established procedures, obtains all pertinent information required to ensure that the Medical Centers’ financial and patient related data bases are accurate and complete. Routinely provides counseling and or education to patients, families or assigned representatives relative to financial responsibility. Interpretation and review of Physician orders for laboratory services which includes documentation of verbal orders, written documentation or other requested ancillary testing to facilitate accurate testing and charges for services rendered.

Performs all aspects of admissions and registrations throughout the medical center as defined. Maintain and adequately track all aspects of census, bed and unit assignment. Routinely provides Administrative Associate B Services during the third shift for Emergency Department Nursing.

Accurate and timely selection of and retrieval of the Medical Records and Cardiology reports to expedite patient evaluation and treatment of all patients. Faxes appropriate and requested medical documentation to other acute care hospitals/facilitates to foster positive outcomes and continuity of care. Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required.

Computer experience required. Related position in a hospital or physician’s office setting. Experience: 3-4 years in an equivalent position.
