A registered behavior technician (RBT) works with children one-on-one and in group settings to improve behavior. Intervention is usually done with special-needs children to reduce problematic behaviors in a public, school, or home setting with the goal to create independent and successful responses. Your duties utilize skills from the science of applied behavior analysis. Your responsibilities are to teach daily living skills, communication, boundaries, and socially accepted behaviors. You collect data, educate family members, collaborate with treatment team members, support the child emotionally, and implement positive reinforcement.
