Regional Facilities Operations Manager – Institutional / Governmental
Location: Front Range / Denver Metropolitan Area, CO
Job Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time
Pay Rate: $43.18 / hour ($81,178.40 annually)
Work Schedule: 235-Day Annual Work Calendar
On-Call: 24/7 Availability for Urgent Site Emergencies

About the Opportunity:
Above The Rest Staffing (ATR Staffing) has been retained by a major governmental organization in the Denver Metro region to recruit an experienced Regional Facilities Operations Manager.

In this leadership role, you will oversee daily operational, maintenance, and facility care standards across approximately 30 regional sites. You will drive team engagement, partner with site administrators, maintain strict quality control standards, and ensure safe, well-maintained environments across all assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational & Team Leadership: Direct day-to-day building operations, set work plans, and manage team performance, coaching, and onboarding.
  • Labor & HR Compliance: Enforce labor agreements across multiple workgroups, participate in initial grievance processes, and maintain strict compliance with state/federal employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers' Compensation).
  • Quality Assurance & Site Care: Implement Quality Control (QC) standards, conduct facility condition inspections, and develop short- and long-term facility operational strategies.
  • Site Leadership Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for facility leaders and site administrators regarding operational needs, facility use agreements, and shared campus operational plans.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee site-level facility budgets, process financial documentation, and manage vendor relationships for supply, tool, and chemical procurement.
  • Staff Training: Instruct formal operational training programs to promote workforce development and foster leadership potential within the team.
  • Emergency Response: Maintain 24/7 emergency response availability for catastrophic events or severe site disruptions.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field preferred).
  • 7+ years of relevant facilities/operations experience (including leadership roles) if holding a High School Diploma, OR 2+ years of management experience with a relevant Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven track record in a high-touch customer service environment with direct oversight of operational and human resource workflows.

Certifications & Skills:
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a clean record meeting organizational insurability standards.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial/institutional building maintenance standards, safety protocols, and equipment operations.
  • Exposure to LEED-certified facility practices, sustainability protocols, or minor project management is a plus.
  • Working familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and supervision of unionized or represented workgroups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for budgeting and reporting.
  • Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and cross-departmental communication skills.
