Department Summary
The IRCO IT/IS Department delivers secure, reliable, and high-quality technology solutions that support the organization's mission, vision, and values. The department encompasses Information Technology (IT) services-including end-user computing, phones and mobile devices, print and imaging, Microsoft applications, servers, networks, and cybersecurity-as well as Information Systems (IS), which include case management databases, business process automation, cloud-based application automation, and knowledge management. Together, IT and IS create a unified approach that integrates computing, data, and technical expertise to effectively support IRCO.


Position Summary
The IT Device Specialist position provides technical support for IRCO staff in IT devices which are phones, computers, and IT accessories such as printers and monitors. As a part of the IT team at IRCO, this position requires a range of responsibilities from Microsoft Device management for onboarding and offboarding. The primary role is configuring/managing computers and supporting computing infrastructure. Technical problem solving and hardware knowledge is needed. ย 


Essential Functions

  • Configure and prepare new devices (computers and phones) for deployment.ย 
  • Manage and enter data into the IRCO IT Inventory Database and other IT databases.ย 
  • Handle Equipment Deployment coverage when other IT staff are unable to address device deployment.ย 
  • Prepare and disposition devices are no longer deployable to employees for e-recycling or donation.ย 
  • Procure IT equipment requested by program managers for employees -- ordering, submitting purchases for approval, ensuring shipments arrive at IRCO Main.ย 
  • Reset & Refurbish employee-returned used laptops for re-deployment.ย 
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network related problems.ย 
  • Identify, document do the improvement projects for IT, particularly device related business processes ย 
  • Orders IT items including accessories from Amazon and makes sure that approval happens.ย 


Secondary Functions

  • Complete Helpdesk Tickets regarding urgent requests by on-site employeesย 
  • Provide IT training to IRCO users for Microsoft Office applications and use of the computers if neededย 

Requirements

Education & Experience

MINIMUM JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic Knowledge of Computer Hardware, Servers, Networking (VPN, Firewall)ย 
  • Knowledge of configuring Device OS/Applications/ management softwareย 
  • Knowledge and experience in working in MS-Office Environment ย 
  • Technical problem solving and debugging skills with IT equipment and applicationsย 
  • Knowledge of how to manage IT accounts and applications and networkย 
  • Working experience with Cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure is preferredย 

Physical, Mental, & Environmental Requirements

  • Hybrid or Office setting job
  • Physical: Requires some physical efforts or manual labor such as lifting, carrying or constant movement. Positions with regular responsibility for driving are to be placed at lease at this level
  • Mental: There is minimal variation in tasks. The job holder is free to determine in which order tasks are completed, but cannot choose not to complete a task
  • Environment: This level has a work environment that is well protected, with virtually no hazards or obstacles. There is very little element of personal risk or hazard. Job conditions are stable, usually well managed and very comfortable
  • Schedule: The work schedule occasionally fluctuates based on organization or customer needs. This fluctuation may occur with or without prior notice.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Positions at this level are not responsible for any supervisory functions, or responsibilities, but may occasionally be asked to orient and/or train new employees or volunteers.
