Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description

The Quality Inspector ensures that products meet defined quality standards by performing detailed inspections and supporting quality assurance processes in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on inspecting incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining statistical quality control, and partnering closely with manufacturing to develop and follow standard operating procedures. It is a full-time, first-shift position (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with a pathway to long-term, permanent employment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective inspection and testing procedures are implemented, followed, and continuously maintained across the manufacturing process.
  • Perform quality inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and outgoing finished products to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) that support consistent product quality.
  • Conduct audits in manufacturing areas and facilities in accordance with established SOPs to verify adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain and update statistical quality control charts and related records to monitor trends and identify potential issues.
  • Identify, document, and help resolve non-conformances, collaborating with production and quality teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Use measurement tools such as micrometers and other inspection instruments to verify dimensional and functional requirements.
  • Provide support on quality projects, including process improvements, documentation updates, and implementation of new quality initiatives.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings of complex mechanical or electrical components to guide inspection activities.
  • Read testing instruments and accurately record inspection results in the appropriate systems or documentation.
  • Prioritize work in accordance with direction from leads or supervisors to meet production and quality timelines.
  • Communicate clearly with cross-functional teams to report findings, escalate issues, and support resolution of quality concerns.
  • Work independently with moderate supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings of complex mechanical or electrical components.
  • Ability to read testing instruments and accurately record inspection results.
  • Ability to use mechanical or electrical inspection tools, instruments, and devices, including micrometers and other measurement tools.
  • Experience with quality assurance and inspection of non-conformances in a production environment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and multiply in units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and support corrective actions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Agile systems or similar product lifecycle or documentation tools.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed to perform inspections and related tasks.
  • Comfort working independently with moderate supervision while maintaining high quality standards.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a clean room environment, where maintaining cleanliness and contamination control is critical. Team members must be comfortable wearing full clean room attire and following strict clean room protocols. The facility supports semiconductor-related manufacturing and quality operations, using measurement tools, inspection instruments, and standard office software. The overall environment combines structured processes with a relaxed, approachable leadership style, encouraging both accountability and teamwork.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.45/hr.
