A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GOLF COURSE MECHANIC TECHNICIAN:
As a Mechanic Technician, you will repair and maintain all golf course equipment and small gas-powered hand tools, and will utilize technical skills to ensure accurate repairs and effective preventive maintenance programs, including changing oil, filters, tires, etc. The Mechanic Tech is responsible for daily inspections for safety, cleanliness, quality of grass cut, and height of grass cut. You will uphold all maintenance schedules related to reel grinding, preventative maintenance, and record-keeping.
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Mechanical experience helpful, but not required.
  • Requires the ability to properly operate all maintenance equipment associated with this department.
  • Requires lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds.
  • Requires flexible work schedule. Will work weekends and holidays. May be required to work odd hours under emergency situations.
  • The nature of this position is physical, and requires long periods of time walking, standing, or stooping. This position works in an outside environment and all associated weather conditions.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be in compliance with and support Drug Free Workplace Policy.
  • This position requires a basic set of employee-owned tools.
