This role uses a consultative-based approach to grow the GEO (Geosynthetics) department sales by obtaining orders from existing and prospective customers. The role combines technical expertise with solution-driven sales to expand our presence in geosynthetics, landfill, mining, civil engineering, and related markets.

The Geosynthetics Sales and Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding market presence, strengthening installer relationships, and driving revenue growth for the companys geosynthetic tools, equipment, and related solutions across the United States. This role requires a highly credible industry professional with strong technical knowledge of geomembrane installation, field welding practices, quality expectations, and the contractor network serving landfill, mining, water containment, environmental, civil construction, and infrastructure markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales and business development strategy for geosynthetic tools, welding equipment, testing instruments, and related products within the U.S. markets.
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with geosynthetic material installers, contractors, engineers, distributors, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Leverage an established network of geosynthetic installer companies to identify new sales opportunities, strengthen customer loyalty, and increase market share.
  • Provide technical guidance and product demonstrations for field equipment used in geomembrane installation, including wedge welders, extrusion welders, hot-air tools, testing instruments, and related accessories.
  • Support customers with application knowledge related to HDPE, LLDPE, PVC, reinforced, EPDM, and other geomembrane materials commonly used in containment and civil construction applications.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry meetings, training events, association activities, and customer visits.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, service, marketing, product management, and leadership teams to align customer needs with business objectives.
  • Manage several direct reports, including coaching, scheduling, workload planning, performance accountability, professional development, and consistent execution of sales and field support priorities.
  • Maintain accurate customer activity, opportunity tracking, forecasting, and reporting through CRM, SAP, Microsoft Office, and other business systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven sales, business development, or technical sales experience within geosynthetics, geomembrane installation, environmental containment, civil construction, landfill, mining, wastewater, or related industrial markets.
  • Established relationships with geosynthetic material installers and contractors across the United States and Canada.
  • Strong field knowledge of geomembrane installation methods, including seam welding, field testing, quality control expectations, and jobsite safety practices.
  • Hands-on familiarity with geosynthetic welding and testing equipment, including wedge welders, extrusion welders, air-channel testing, vacuum box testing, tensiometers, or other seam verification tools.
  • Industry credibility and professional reputation with installers, contractors, engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders in the geosynthetics market.
  • Working knowledge of industry associations and standards organizations such as the International Association of Geosynthetics Installers, geosynthetic installation guidelines, certification programs, and best-practice expectations for field performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships, negotiate sales opportunities, and close business in a technical product environment.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, including overnight travel to customer sites, project locations, trade shows, and training events.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, SAP, and general business technology tools.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Residence in or near Houston, Texas preferred.
  • Prior experience working directly with geosynthetic installers, liner contractors, environmental contractors, or equipment distributors.
  • Hands on experience with geosynthetic tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of IAGI Certified Welding Technician programs, Approved Installation Contractor expectations, and related industry training or certification practices.
  • Experience leading, coaching, scheduling, and managing several direct reports, including sales representatives, field specialists, technical support personnel, or similar team members, is highly desirable.
