DGS, through the Bureau of Surplus Supplies and Operations (BSSO), is the state agency charged with receiving, inventorying, reallocating, selling, recycling and/or disposing of supplies and equipment no longer needed by other Commonwealth agencies. Currently, BSSO utilizes a simple web-form to track receipt of surplus supplies and equipment from Commonwealth agencies. Once received, no information technology solution exists to inventory items salvaged for reuse/reallocation or to monitor the movement of these items through the reallocation, recycling or disposal processes.

1. Facilitate a market analysis process to identify COTS systems that can potentially manage the state's surplus processes (July)
2. Guide the team through a software evaluation process to select one or more products that will meet BSSO's requirements for a full inventory system (August)
