Job Description

TOMRA is an international recycling company is looking to fill the role of a Shift Supervisor in our Farmington, NY location.

Schedule: 12:00 PM- 10:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Pay: $65,000/yr + Bonus potential

The Shift Supervisor will assist the Operations Manager in maintaining and maximizing driver and plant productivity, complying with federal/state/local safety regulations and monitoring the sites DOT compliance. In addition, this person will also be called on to do employee and customer training, assist with customer service inquiries and issues. Essential duties and responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:

Plant & Processing

  • Ensure SOP’s pertaining to unloading, auditing, processing and reconciliation are followed by plant personnel.
  • Assist in commodity processing, inventory and shipping.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Administers union contracts and interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications to workers and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.

Employee Relations

  • Ensures all compliance with TOMRA policies and procedures.
  • Performance Review for all direct reports.
  • Maintains personnel level to fulfill daily routes.
  • Continually train employees in all areas to maintain depth in the ranks.
Qualifications

Qualifications

       Must be fluent in English and Spanish.

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or technical school (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in Business, Logistics or other related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years warehouse, manufacturing or transportation experience.
  • At least 1 year experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize work flow.
  • Experience analyzing and solving complex business problems and scenarios.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels with an organization both in person and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other business related software systems.

Must have the ability to work with your hands to organize and inspect equipment as well as being able to lift up to 50lbs at a time unassisted.
