Recycle Route Driver Jobs in Riverside, CA (NOW HIRING)

Position Summary

The Class A Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation, collection, pickup, and delivery of electronic waste (e-waste), IT assets, and recycling materials from customer locations to company processing facilities. This position ensures compliance with all DOT, DMV, California Highway Patrol (CHP), environmental regulations, and company procedures while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the security and integrity of customer materials. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Daily Responsibilities 

·         Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify safety issues, fluid leaks, equipment defects, or maintenance needs. 

·         Review daily route assignments, pickup schedules, and manifests for electronic waste collections and deliveries. 

·         Verify all pickups, deliveries, and transfers have proper authorization and management approval prior to transport. 

·         Safely transport electronic waste, IT assets, batteries, and related materials in accordance with DOT, environmental, and company requirements. 

·         Ensure proper handling, loading, securement, and transportation of customer materials to prevent damage, loss, or contamination. 

·         Follow all company procedures related to chain-of-custody, data security, and material accountability. 

·         Maintain assigned vehicles, trailers, and equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition. 

·         Secure company vehicles and equipment at the end of each shift, including returning keys and required documentation. 

Driver Responsibilities 

·         Complete and maintain all transportation, shipping, recycling, and customer documentation accurately and timely. 

·         Conduct routine vehicle safety inspections and report maintenance concerns immediately. 

·         Maintain DOT logs, driver records, vehicle inspection reports, and company-required documentation. 

·         Safely load and unload pallets, gaylords, totes, and electronic recycling materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.

·         Verify quantities and item descriptions against manifests, bills of lading, and customer paperwork. 

·         Ensure proper segregation and handling of electronic devices, batteries, and other recyclable commodities. 

·         Provide professional, courteous, and responsive customer service during all pickups and deliveries. 

·         Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding route status and service issues. 

·         Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency. 

·         Maintain a satisfactory driving record and adherence to all company safety policies. 

Qualifications and Requirements 

·         Valid California Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL). 

·         Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card). 

·         Recent DMV H6 (K4) driving record report. 

·         Minimum of two years of commercial driving experience preferred. 

·         Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English. 

·         Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and safe driving practices. 

·         Previous experience in recycling, waste management, logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations is preferred. 

·         Forklift certification or the ability to become certified. 

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of customer assets and sensitive electronic equipment. 

Physical Requirements 

·         Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and reach throughout the workday. 

·         Ability to safely operate commercial motor vehicles and material-handling equipment. 

·         Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move heavier items with appropriate equipment. 

·         Ability to load and unload electronic equipment and recycling materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, and other approved equipment. 

·         Visual abilities must include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment 

·         Work is performed in warehouses, recycling facilities, customer locations, loading docks, and public roadways. 

·         Frequent operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, and other material-handling equipment. 

·          

·         Exposure to electronic recycling materials, warehouse dust, varying temperatures, and outdoor weather conditions. 

·         Employee may be exposed to moderate to high noise levels and moving mechanical equipment. 

·         Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required while handling electronic recycling materials. 

Work Schedule 

This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; however, schedules may vary based on customer requirements and operational needs. Overtime, early morning shifts, evening shifts, and occasional weekend work may be required. 

Travel Requirements 

·         Daily local travel to customer sites, collection events, transfer stations, and recycling facilities. 

·         Occasional regional travel may be required based on business needs.
