We have an immediate opening for a Recycling Technician to handle processing of all recycling and waste management for our Cypress, CA facility.


Key Job Functions:

  • Overseeing the collecting, handling and delivery of recyclable material from offices and production area
  • Ensuring recyclable materials are placed in proper containers
  • Inspecting collection barrels, carts, dumpsters, and recycling bins making sure that they are in good condition and if they need their labels to be replaced
  • Maintaining records and makes periodic reports about volume and type of recycling activity
  • Maintaining recycling center in a clean, well-organized manner avoiding clutter and potential fire hazards
  • Receiving, inspecting and verifying recyclable materials
  • Picking up and delivers supplies and materials for recycling area
  • Loading and unloading recycling pickup trucks
  • Overseeing recycling equipment maintenance
  • Assisting in the sorting and baling of recyclable commodities
  • Logging and tracking recycling pick-ups
  • Reporting garbage spills/hazardous waste and contaminated recycling bins/barrels to the Plant Manager 
  • Involvement in other special projects, as needed

Pay $19.00/hr


Requirements

In order to be successful, you will need:

  • At least 6 to 12 months experience working in a production environment
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Forklift experience/certification
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of proper methods of disposing of hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of safe and proper use of baler
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Ability to understand necessar safety procedures and precautions
