Heavy Duty Towing & Recovery Operator

Location: Midwest Star Group, MN

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Duty Towing Operator with an active class A CDL to join our team at Jerry's Towing. As a Heavy-Duty Towing Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently towing heavy vehicles, such as commercial trucks and buses, to various locations. You will need to have a strong understanding of towing equipment and techniques, as well as excellent driving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to towing, recovery, and roadside service calls safely and efficiently.
  • Emergency Response Expectations – we operate 24/7/356 and respond to accidents, breakdowns, police calls, recoveries, roadside emergencies, etc.
  • Operate assigned towing and recovery equipment in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Safely hook, secure, transport and unload passenger, commercial and heavy-duty vehicles as assigned.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report equipment or safety concerns.
  • Communicate with dispatch, customers, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel as needed.
  • Complete required service documentation, photos, inspection records, and other paperwork accurately.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and keep trucks clean, safe, and ready for service.
  • Work safely in roadside, traffic, weather, and emergency-response environments.
  • Provide professional customer service during stressful or time-sensitive situations.

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driver's license (Class A CDL)
  • Previous experience as a tow driver
  • Acceptable drive records that meets company and insurance requirements
  • Strong knowledge of towing equipment and techniques
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • 21+ years of age
