Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our Heavy Equipment Operator (Material Handler), you will be responsible for moving, reducing, processing, and loading materials as dictated by production activity.ย  Your organizational and time management skills will play a key role in your success.ย ย 

The Team

You will be part of a safety-first team where your contributions directly support efficient and sustainable metal recycling operations. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment, develop new skills through cross-training, and grow your career in a collaborative environment that values teamwork, continuous learning, and operational excellence.ย 

Work Environment

This is a Monday to Friday position working 7:00AM to 4:00PM with rotating Saturdays and is located in Edmonton AB.ย 

A Day in The Life
  • Load railcars with recycled metal materials
  • Operate material handler in a safe and effective manner
  • Move, reduce, process, and load materials as dictated by production activity
  • Pile, spread, or sort product by grade for appropriate placement on site
  • Understand product/material information
  • Clean and service equipment as scheduled or required
  • Other assigned work as required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • 1+ years' experience operating material handlers with grapple and magnet
  • Scrap metal experience is preferred
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to monitor processes, material and operating environment
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Safety conscious
