We are seeking a professional, courteous, and organized individual to fill the role of Receptionist at Starr. As the face of our organization, the Receptionist will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our guests and providing exceptional customer service. The Receptionist is also a valuable contributor to our underwriting and operational teams, working closely with staff to support a range of administrative and insurance-related processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly, professional first impression for coworkers and visitors, ensuring all arrivals are welcomed and assisted according to office protocols.
  • Screen and route calls by researching and connecting callers with the appropriate internal or external contact.
  • Prepare and organize conference rooms, supporting staff with basic setup, refreshments or technology needs as requested.
  • Maintain office security by following procedures, monitoring logbooks, controlling access, and issuing visitor badges.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries and manage outgoing mail and messenger pick-ups.
  • Regularly review and revise documentation of reception desk policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain shared spaces, including the Executive Breakroom, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Provide administrative support to staff, including document processing and assistance with departmental projects and daily office efforts.
  • Additional roles and specialized tasks relating to Aviation department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in office management is a plus.
  • Proven work experience in a corporate environment as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, Administrative Assistant or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and other office productivity software, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Highly dependable and efficient, able to comply with deadlines.
