Job Summary:
Schmidt Sciences is a nonprofit organization founded in 2024 that accelerates scientific knowledge and breakthroughs. They invite recent PhD graduates in AI and computer science to apply for a fellows-in-residence program, where they will support the AI Institute and pursue specific research projects aligned with the Instituteโ€™s priorities.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Split time between supporting the AI Institute and pursuing specific research projects aligned with the Instituteโ€™s priorities.
โ€ข Propose specific projects as part of their application for the fellowship.
โ€ข Complete projects during their fellowship that align with AI Institute goals and research directions.
โ€ข Read and assess research proposals in multiple areas of AI, including safety, AI and science, AI and economics, etc.
โ€ข Support the exploration and design of new AI grantmaking programs, such as in the areas of interpretability, safety, and scientific discovery.
