Job description

To help defend our nation, deployed forces, and allies from ballistic missile attacks, the Integrated Missile Defense Technology Group supports the Missile Defense Agency in the development, deployment, testing, and enhancement of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). We continuously develop and enhance BMDS elements to enable them to keep up with rapidly evolving threats. Our staff are involved in the development and integration of these elements from the analysis and characterization of the worldwide ballistic missile threat to the fielding of new BMDS capabilities. We perform system and component engineering, algorithm development, advanced technology prototyping, and validation of system performance by means of testing and analysis.

Job Description - Associate Staff - AI/ML

Group 36, the Integrated Missile Defense Technology group, seeks highly motivated individuals to join in an outstanding and interdisciplinary team of mathematicians, scientists, and engineers in solving challenging and critically important missile defense problems through simulation, modeling, algorithm development, autonomy and machine learning, hardware prototyping, field testing and analysis.

The successful candidate will be able to work on a broad range of problems. Desired areas of expertise include any of the following: data science and engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), statistics, autonomous systems (AS), algorithm development, prototyping, data infrastructure and analytics, modeling and simulation, and radar signal processing. The applicant must be enthusiastic in applying AI/ML or AS knowledge to national security applications, including those of missile defense. Experience with python, deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch), and high-performance computing is desired. Must have demonstrated proficiency in oral presentations and written reporting skills. Must have proven record of selfmotivation and ability to work well in a team environment.

Requirements

MS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Autonomy, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aero/Astro, or a related field. In lieu of a MS degree, an BS degree and 2 years of position-related experience will be considered.

Recent Graduate Hiring Range:$116,400 - $140,000ย 

Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 - $182,200ย
