At Kuehne+Nagel, the Receiving Warehouse Associate is responsible for managing inbound freight, carefully verifying inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe working environment. Key duties include processing incoming goods efficiently, updating inventory databases accurately, and thoroughly inspecting items for quality and compliance. The position operates Monday through Friday, from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm, with compensation provided on a weekly basis.
How you create impact
A Kuehne+Nagel receiving or warehouse associate handles inbound freight, verifies and sorts inventory, and maintains safety compliance. Key duties involve processing incoming goods, updating database systems, and inspecting items for damage
Core Responsibilities:
  • Inbound Processing: Unload incoming trucks, sort cargo, and perform piece counts and weight checks. Safely unload incoming trucks and containers
  • Quality & Damage Inspection: Identify and document damaged goods or missing items from shipments.
    • Check inbound paperwork, piece counts, and weights against system manifests, ensuring items are free of damage.
    • Pay close attention detail, read notes, match paperwork to physical items. Report discrepancies
  • Data Entry: Scan barcodes using RF scanners and log inventory information into computer tracking systems
    • Log incoming inventory accurately using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Inventory Storing: Palletize, shrink-wrap, and move products to designated warehouse storage locations
    • Organize and store products in designated warehouse locations to maximize space utilization
  • Safety Compliance: Follow strict workplace safety rules, wear required gear and maintain a clean work area
    • Follow OSHA guidelines, wear required protective gear and keep the receiving dock clear and orderly

Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: High School, High School Equivalent
  • Proven basic math skills at the high school level
  • 1+ years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Schedule flexibility - Ability to work weekends and overtime
  • Proficiency with RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • SAP and MS (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook) experience is preferred but not required
  • Comfortable using computers, inventory software
  • Employees will be expected to follow procedures introduced via on-the-job training
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature control warehouse setting
  • Must be a US citizen
