The UW MEDICAL CENTER - NORTHWEST – CHILDBIRTH CENTER has an outstanding opportunity for a SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST.

WORK SCHEDULE

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Be responsible for facilitating assigned surgical procedures through the assembly of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies
  • Competitive candidates will have certification as scrub technologist and/or six months of experience as an Operating Room Technician in a hospital operating room or childbirth center
  • The teamwork among our employees makes the department an enjoyable and exciting place to work
  • Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
  • Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
  • Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.

WHAT WE OFFER

Along with competitive pay and benefits, we offer the following shift differentials for our Surgical Technologist staff:

  • Evening Shift: $1.75/hour
  • Night Shift: $5.00/hour
  • Weekends: $4.00/hour
