Primary Responsibilities.

Leads the planning and coordination of incoming parts receipt, serving as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers on receiving inspection matters, including scheduling and prioritization during high-volume or urgent receipts.

Performs advanced inspection of incoming parts and serves as the team's subject-matter resource for interpreting purchase order (PO) line notes, quality notes (Qnotes), and technical requirements; guides junior inspectors through non-routine or ambiguous inspection scenarios.

Oversees verification of part quantity, revision, and part number against packing lists and certificates of conformance; identifies discrepancies and damage, determines appropriate disposition, and completes Cost Point transactions, reviewing and correcting team entries for accuracy.

Leads disposition of non-conforming material (NCM) and return-to-vendor (RTV) coordination for complex or high-impact cases, acting as the primary liaison between Supplier Quality, Purchasing, and the supplier base to drive timely resolution.

Serves as the go-to resource for use of standard measuring equipment (calipers, tape measures, rulers) and specialized tooling; reviews and validates Acceptance Data Packs and First Article Inspection Reports for accuracy and completeness, and trains others in proper review technique.

Supports and reviews work performed by suppliers on special processes, including chem film, plating, painting, and heat treating, verifying conformance to applicable specifications, and/or drawing requirement and resolving process-related discrepancies that fall outside standard criteria.

Leads verification and labeling of shelf-life-controlled and hazmat material, and audits team practices to ensure consistent compliance with storage, labeling, and handling requirements.

Assists the supervisor in training, delegating, and reviewing the work of other receiving and incoming quality inspectors; may serve as a working team lead for the receiving inspection function, providing day-to-day direction on non-routine problems.

Basic Qualifications.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; works effectively with internal and external suppliers and is relied upon as a resource by less experienced staff and cross-functional partners.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; regularly communicates with contacts within and outside the department on matters of significant importance to the quality function.

Comprehensive experience reviewing AS9100 quality systems and contract requirement documentation, including First Article Reports, Inspection and Test Reports, Material Test Reports, and Certificates of Compliance, with the ability to independently identify documentation deficiencies.

Advanced ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, both electrical and mechanical. Significant, demonstrated experience in a Quality Inspection role verifying count and condition, including experience mentoring or training less experienced inspectors.

Deltek Costpoint software experience (excluding timekeeping), with the ability to troubleshoot routine data entry issues for the team.

Must be able to lift 35 lbs. or utilize the buddy system.

Solumina MES and Documentum experience strongly preferred.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; typically, 3-5 years of electrical and mechanical incoming receiving inspection experience, consistent with S4-level requirements.

Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment, while guiding and training others

Preferred Qualifications.

Advanced J-STD-001 and J-STD-610 experience for electrical items, with ability to train others on standards application.

Forklift license.

Advanced proficiency in mechanical inspection using height gauges and special tooling.

Prior experience serving as a team lead or shift lead in a quality inspection environment.
