The Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the receiving and storage of merchandise and inventory for the company. They ensure that all deliveries are properly received and processed, and that inventory levels are accurate and organized. The Receiving Clerk also collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient operations. This job requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Is knowledgeable, proficient and consistently adheres to the receiving policies and procedures such as: Reducing shrink, BRData, using FM hand unit, informing vendors of Kent's receiving policies and maintain signature log, backroom daily maintenance, daily equipment logs, verifies item count, cost, and quality on all invoices, forklift and pallet jack certified, pallet tracking, Kent's invoice and filing system, AFS reclaim policy and procedures.
  • Ensures proper processing and safe delivery of invoices and other documents and records to the store office.
  • Inspects receipt of products for concealed damage. Ensures proper recording, storage and handling of any damaged items.
  • Maintains proper security of back door exits by: Inspection of all items and containers leaving the area and properly securing and locking of assigned exit doors when not attended.
  • Responsible to maintain a controlled receiving area, organizing product and supplies in a sanitary, clean, secure and safe manner; both inside and outside areas.
  • Supervise vendor back stock, maintain reclaim area, recognize and report delivery person theft tracks, ensures acceptable quality and actual quantities of credits and goods received, receives AFS shipment.
  • Continually maintains a high level of productivity.
  • Attends departmental, store and company meetings as required. Communicates any receiving concerns or ideas for improvement during weekly management meeting.
  • Supports the team by taking on additional tasks or responsibilities as requested.
  • Please note:weekend shifts are required (holidays as applicable)

Physical/Sensory Demands
Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
