Purpose:

A rebar production worker at Nucor Rebar Fabrication will bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customers' orders. You'll work with a mentor who will train you on safely using all machinery.

Candidates must be able to work in an outdoor environment. Previous work in construction and landscaping is a huge plus; candidates with previous trades experience tend to be successful in the role and may have a significant opportunity for advancement within the organization. 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Must be age 18 or over
Due to the operating conditions of the position, this is a safety-sensitive position, you must pass a drug test, including THC

Must be able to work overtime when required

Able to read and comprehend basic safety and operational instructions

Able to perform basic math for accurate bar measurements

Detailed Selection Criteria:

Controlling Machines and Processes - read and comprehend basic safety and operational instructions

Mathematics - Knowledge of basic math for accurate bar measurements.

 Occupational Safety - Using knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, strategies, and judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws and regulations to promote standards as well as working to continuously improve processes to ensure safety of all individuals.

Accountability - Displays responsibility with work habits and has the ability to hold others accountable for desired results.

Dependability - Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations.

Teamwork - Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.

Physical Demands:

Working conditions can be noisy/dusty/hot/cold
 Some heavy lifting may be necessary
