What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Realtor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Realtor, you need a valid real estate license, in-depth knowledge of property laws, and strong sales and negotiation skills. Familiarity with Multiple Listing Services (MLS), customer relationship management (CRM) software, and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and resilience help Realtors build client trust and navigate challenging transactions. These abilities are crucial for closing deals, maintaining client satisfaction, and succeeding in a competitive real estate market.

What is a realtor license?

A realtor license is an official credential that allows an individual to legally represent buyers and sellers in real estate transactions. In most states in the U.S., you must complete required education, pass a licensing exam, and meet specific state requirements to obtain a real estate license. The term 'Realtor' specifically refers to a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and adheres to its strict code of ethics. Having a realtor license enables you to help clients buy, sell, and rent properties while complying with state laws and regulations.

What are some common challenges new Realtors face after obtaining their license, and how can they overcome them?

Newly licensed Realtors often face challenges such as building a client base, learning local market trends, and managing the complexities of real estate transactions. Many struggle with time management and the need to balance prospecting, networking, and ongoing education. To overcome these challenges, it's helpful to seek mentorship from experienced agents, join a supportive brokerage, and invest time in local community involvement. Continuous learning and leveraging available training resources can also accelerate your growth in the industry.

Job description

Sales Rep – Real Estate Investment Sales
Property Sellwise – South Jordan, UT
Important License Requirement
Applicants must be licensed real estate agents in Utah or actively working toward a Utah real estate license. The selected candidate must hang their license with Connect Fast Realty, LLC. Please do not apply if you are unwilling or unable to do so.
About the Role
Property Sellwise is hiring a driven, competitive, relationship-focused Sales Rep to sell our assignment contracts, flips, and wholetail properties.
For assignments, you will pitch deals to cash buyers and investors, create demand, negotiate offers, and help get assignments closed. For flips and wholetails, you will help list, market, promote, and sell properties through MLS, buyer outreach, agent relationships, email blasts, social media, calls, and follow-up.
Your top priority will be building and maintaining a strong buyer list of cash buyers, investors, agents, and end-buyers. You will also build agent relationships that may lead to off-market opportunities.
Core Values
Humor – We take our deals seriously, but not ourselves.
Extreme Ownership – We own our wins, losses, mistakes, and outcomes.
Be Genuine – We build trust, say what we mean, and follow through.
Obsession – We constantly improve our skills, systems, communication, relationships, and results.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain an active buyer list.
Pitch contracted properties and create urgency, demand, and strong offers.
Market assignments, wholetails, and flips through calls, texts, email, MLS, social media, and direct outreach.
Help list and manage completed fix-and-flip sales, including pricing, photos, MLS information, showings, offers, and buyer/agent communication.
Negotiate assignment contracts, purchase agreements, listing agreements, and sale terms professionally and on time.
Coordinate with acquisitions, title companies, agents, buyers, and team members to help ensure smooth closings.
Track the sales pipeline, update the CRM, follow up consistently, and provide market insight, buyer feedback, and pricing recommendations.
Develop agent relationships that may lead to off-market opportunities.
Promote properties and build Property Sellwise brand awareness on social media.
What We’re Looking For
Active Utah real estate license or currently obtaining one.
Willingness to hang your license with Connect Fast Realty, LLC.
Experience in real estate sales, investment sales, dispositions, wholesaling, listing coordination, or relationship-based sales preferred.
Strong communication, negotiation, follow-up, organization, and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable making calls, texting, emailing, posting on social media, and meeting with buyers or agents.
Self-motivated, coachable, accountable, loyal, competitive, growth-minded, and able to manage a high-volume pipeline.
Familiarity with contracts, MLS, title processes, CRM software, PropStream, GoHighLevel, or similar tools preferred.
Compensation
This is an $80,000–$120,000+ blended salary and commission career opportunity.
Base salary: $40,000 annually
Performance-based commissions include 2%–3% of net profit on assignment deals and 0.5% of the total sale price on flip sale listings.
Training, systems, tools, and support are provided.
Growth Opportunity
With trust, performance, loyalty, and core value alignment, there may be an opportunity to also work company-provided paid seller leads in addition to the primary Sales Rep responsibilities. This is not guaranteed and would not replace the core focus of the role.
Culture
At Property Sellwise, culture is not a slogan. It is a standard. We believe in accountability, clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
This is not the right fit for someone who wants to coast, avoid accountability, avoid phone calls, or wait to be told what to do.
Apply Today
If you are ready to join a competitive, growth-driven real estate company, please apply and tell us why you are a strong fit.
We hire for mindset, discipline, loyalty, values, and long-term potential.
