What is a real estate agent?

Real estate agents are licensed professionals who help clients buy, sell, and rent properties. They act as intermediaries between buyers and sellers, providing guidance on pricing, negotiations, and legal requirements. Real estate agents also market properties, arrange showings, and assist with paperwork to ensure smooth transactions. Their expertise and local market knowledge can help clients make informed decisions throughout the real estate process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a real estate agent?

To thrive as a Real Estate Agent, you need a solid understanding of property markets, sales techniques, and local regulations, typically supported by a real estate license. Familiarity with MLS (Multiple Listing Service) platforms, CRM software, and digital marketing tools is essential. Exceptional interpersonal skills, negotiation ability, and resilience help agents build trust and close deals. These skills are critical to effectively connect clients with properties, navigate complex transactions, and achieve sales success in a competitive industry.

What are some typical challenges faced by real estate agents when building a client base?

New real estate agents often find that establishing a steady stream of clients is one of the biggest initial challenges. Success in this role frequently depends on proactive networking, consistent marketing efforts, and building a reputation for reliability and expertise in your local market. Agents typically spend time attending community events, leveraging social media, and following up with leads to create lasting relationships. Over time, referrals from satisfied clients and a growing network make it easier to maintain a robust client base, but persistence and adaptability are key in the early stages.

Job description

Summary
An Exceptional Opportunity for Real Estate Agents
This is more than a typical real estate position. We are offering one of just five highly sought-after spots on a leading team in Northeast Louisiana, where each agent is on track to close approximately 30 homes this year.
We are seeking:
  • Experienced agents whose production has plateaued and who are ready for proven systems-not simply more hours.
  • Newer agents who want to accelerate their careers while avoiding years of unnecessary trial and error.

Regardless of your experience, you'll receive the resources and guidance needed to build momentum, including:
  • A proven business roadmap
  • Effective lead-generation and sales strategies
  • Advanced technology and tools
  • Expert coaching
  • Consistent accountability focused on converting effort into closed transactions

Additional benefits include revenue-sharing opportunities, health benefits, and clear paths for professional growth.
You bring the drive, discipline, and commitment. We provide the structure and support to help you succeed. The question is: What could closing 30 transactions a year make possible for your life?
Responsibilities
  • Run the PLACE lead generation system weekly so your pipeline never depends on luck
  • Consult with buyers, secure signed buyer agreements, and find the right home
  • Consult with sellers, win the listing, and market the home to sell
  • Negotiate offers that protect your clients and close clean
  • Track every task and activity in PLACE technology so nothing slips
  • Host two open houses a month to create new conversations
  • Show up for weekly 1:1 coaching, script practice, and team training
Qualifications
You are an intrinsically motivated sales professional with a competitive spirit. You build rapport easily, you listen for what people actually need, and prospecting is a strength, not a chore. You're coachable and you do the work.
  • Hold a real estate license, or be actively working to get one
  • Any production level welcome: whether you closed 25 last year or are starting from zero, we're built to grow you
  • Coachable and willing to run scripts, dialogues, and proven systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Learning-based, growth-minded, and organized
  • Self-motivated with the discipline to manage your own time
About-our-team
We're a Northeast Louisiana team powered by PLACE, and the short version is we've built the systems most agents spend a decade wishing they had. In-house marketing and design, daily live training, and technology that takes up to 75% of the busywork off your plate, so you spend your time with clients instead of paperwork.
We're broker-agnostic and obsessed with one thing: helping good agents finally hit the numbers they're capable of. Our agents are on pace for 30 deals each this year. Come find out what you're capable of with real leverage behind you.
