What is a real property data collector?

Real Property Data Collectors are professionals responsible for gathering and recording detailed information about real estate properties. They typically visit properties to verify physical characteristics, measure structures, photograph buildings, and document property features. This data is used by assessors, government agencies, or real estate firms for accurate property valuation, taxation, and record-keeping. Their work ensures property records are up-to-date and reflect any changes or improvements made to the property.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a real property data collector?

To thrive as a Real Property Data Collector, you need strong attention to detail, knowledge of property assessment procedures, and a high school diploma or relevant experience in real estate or property appraisal. Familiarity with data collection tools, GIS mapping systems, and property assessment software is typically required. Excellent organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are valuable soft skills in this role. These skills ensure accurate data collection, reliable property records, and efficient workflow, which are essential for fair property valuation and taxation.

What are some common challenges a real property data collector might face in the field, and how can they be addressed?

Real Property Data Collectors often encounter challenges such as accessing remote or hard-to-reach properties, dealing with inclement weather, and ensuring data accuracy under tight deadlines. Effective time management, strong communication with property owners, and familiarity with digital data collection tools can help overcome these hurdles. Building rapport with local stakeholders and staying organized are key strategies for success in this role.

Job description

About SeekNow

SeekNow is transforming property inspections through technology, data, and human expertise. Verified, structured, current condition data sits at the center of decisions made by insurance carriers, mortgage lenders, real estate investors and operators, valuation firms, and a growing range of industries that depend on knowing what a property looks like. We deliver it faster and more reliably than anyone else. If you want to be part of a product-driven, tech-forward team building real-world impact at scale, you're in the right place.

The Opportunity

With over 15 years serving the insurance carrier market and more than 3,000 inspections conducted daily, SeekNow is expanding into residential real estate. We’re building new products and workflows for real estate investors and operators, valuation firms, and the broader ecosystem of industries that depend on verified residential property data. We’re looking for a Product Director to help define, build, and scale this emerging vertical.

This is a builder role. Our real estate product surface is early‑stage and growing fast. You’ll shape it from the ground up.

You’ll work directly with the SVP/GM of Real Estate and alongside Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Software Engineering, Data, and Operations to deliver products and workflows for this space. You’ll lead a cross‑functional strategy team, partner with horizontal product managers on shared platforms, and deliver outcomes through influence rather than authority.

What You’ll Do:
  • Set Strategy & Lead the Real Estate Vertical
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for the vertical -- balancing near‑term client opportunities against longer‑term platform investments, and making the call on build, buy, or partner.
  • Translate needs from key accounts and enterprise clients into product requirements and fscalable workflow specifications and lead a cross‑functional strategy cadence across Sales, Operations, Marketing, Software Engineering, and Data to align priorities and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Partner with horizontal product managers to negotiate sequencing and decide where real estate requirements become shared‑platform capabilities versus bespoke solutions.
  • Find, Validate & Launch New Growth
  • Identify and size new opportunities and validate product‑market fit through customer discovery and pilots, and partner with Sales and Marketing on positioning, packaging, pricing, and enablement.
  • Drive requirements and feedback loops for technology partnerships and integrations, including the data exchange standards and compliance considerations that underpin new offerings.
  • Own the vision for analytics and insight products built on SeekNow’s proprietary property data and scoring models, treating models as products with accountable input, validation, accuracy, and explainability.
  • Build, Ship & Scale Across the Org
  • Own the roadmap across client‑facing applications, internal workflows, inspector tools, reporting, and data products.
  • Drive the rollout of new features and applications across horizontal development team, sequencing dependencies, aligning GTM and Operations, and driving a shared release schedule that keeps every team in lockstep.
  • Coordinate UAT, training, change management, and post‑launch measurement, tracking adoption, quality, customer satisfaction and business impact.
  • Own Scheduling, Dispatch, and Job Tracking for the Field Network
  • Own the platform that streamlines scheduling, dispatch, and job tracking end‑to‑end: how appointments are booked and time‑windowed, how jobs are matched and dispatched to available capacity, how the system responds to cancellations, no‑shows, and surge‑volume.
  • Own the tracking and visibility layer that tells internal teams and clients where every job stands and turns the data into operational metrics the business runs on.
  • Partner with Operations to Support the Field Network
  • Define the inspector‑network requirements specific to real estate such as coverage, capacity, quality, and service levels. Work with operations to turn new use cases into operational workflows for inspectors, internal teams, and clients.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience: 5–8+ years in Product Management with meaningful time in real estate tech, proptech, mortgage, field services, or a related operations‑heavy domain, and a track record of taking products from discovery through launch, adoption, and measurable business impact.

  • Builder Mindset: Demonstrated ability to build products in ambiguous, early‑stage environments without inherited playbooks -- comfortable owning something that doesn’t fully exist yet.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership: Proven ability to lead through influence across Sales, Operations, Marketing, Software Engineering, Data, and senior leadership, aligning competing priorities and turning ambiguity into committed decisions.
  • Market & Customer Development: Client‑facing experience translating enterprise client feedback into product direction, partnering with Sales on discovery, win/loss, and positioning, and the ability to develop credibility quickly in regulated or technically complex domains. Real estate or insurance experience preferred but not required.
  • Strategy & Prioritization: Strong judgment in evaluating opportunities, defining MVPs, sequencing roadmaps, and recommending when to build, buy, partner, pilot, scale, or stop.
  • Marketplace or Operational Product Strength: Hands‑on experience owning dispatch, scheduling, or routing/optimization products in a field service, logistics, or two‑sided marketplace context — you understand supply‑demand matching and bring genuine empathy for the field teams and customers who depend on these systems.
  • Data Product Fluency: Comfort defining success metrics for analytics and model‑driven products, partnering with Engineering and Data Science on feasibility, accuracy, explainability, and customer value.
  • Execution‑Oriented: Excellent written communicator who produces clear specs, briefs, and stakeholder‑ready materials; self‑driven, with a bias toward solving problems and shipping outcomes, not just plans.
Why You’ll Love It Here:
  • Build Something That Doesn’t Exist Yet: You’ll operate with executive‑level visibility, meaningful scope, and a direct hand in defining what SeekNow’s Residential Property Intelligence platform becomes.
  • Real‑World Impact: Your products will shape how thousands of properties are inspected, valued, and managed every day.
  • Autonomy + Collaboration: Own your space, while being part of a highly connected, supportive team.
  • Growth‑Minded Environment: We prioritize learning, innovation, and pushing the limits of what’s possible.

Join SeekNow. Build what’s next in property technology.
