Job description

MONTICELLOAM, LLC and its affiliates ("Monticello") is a real estate and asset-based lender providing asset management and comprehensive capital solutions for healthcare, multifamily, and commercial real estate assets throughout the US. We are seeking motivated, collaborative professionals who bring creativity, compassion, and a strong work ethic to a dynamic team environment.

We are looking for a Commercial Real Estate Financial Analyst or Senior Analyst for our Richmond, VA or White Plains, NY offices. The White Plains office is across the street from the White Plains train station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support underwriting of commercial real estate loans across several asset classes, with a primary focus on healthcare-related investments
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal and external investment committees as well as syndicate banking partners
  • Assist in structuring transactions, including drafting term sheets and letters of intent
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate lending opportunities, including loan sizing, structuring, and return analysis (IRR, NPV, ROI, ROE)
  • Perform KYC (Know Your Customer) and background checks on all transaction parties
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including review of appraisals, market studies, environmental reports, financial statements, and all other third-party reports
  • Coordinate with clients, legal counsel, title companies, and all other stakeholders to collect documentation and facilitate loan closings
  • Analyze historic financials, operating performance, and projections; conduct proforma and sensitivity analyses to assess risk and feasibility
  • Analyze market trends and support broader investment strategy and reporting initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvements, internal tools, and reporting capabilities
  • Assist with marketing materials and investor communications, including private placement offerings
  • Collaborate with asset management to support handoff of transactions from underwriting through post-closing responsibilities
  • Ability to travel nationally as required
  • Work in the office as required by office policy

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years professional experience, preferably in commercial real estate finance, lending, or underwriting
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, real estate, business, or a related field (minimum one year post-graduation experience required)
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Word
  • Solid understanding of real estate concepts (e.g., cap rate, DSCR, LTV, cash flow analysis)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent transactions or priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail
  • Interest in healthcare, seniors housing, or multifamily projects
  • Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow within the industry
  • Ability to work full-time in-office in Richmond, VA or Whiteplains, NY

Monticello offers a competitive base salary and bonus. The base salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000/year. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the annual review process.
