We are looking for a full-time Accountant with at least 3 years of experience with Residential Real Estate experience.
The Accountant is responsible for the day to day accounting of real estate assets and work at our corporate office that is detail-oriented with strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task successfully with external and internal customers to ensure all financial objectives are achieved.
The Accountant is generally responsible for closing the books and records for approximately 12 to 15 properties and all ancillary accounting related to these assets and will be responsible for managing all financial responsibilities for twenty-five apartments across sixteen communities utilizing cash and accrual accounting principles to prepare financial statements, prepare accurate and timely reports, and implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
Duties
Review and post AP batches from sites
Post and issue security deposit refunds
Perform a semi-monthly check run including EFT payments
Prepares and review 1099's
Post and reconcile EFT loan payments with loan statements
Reconcile bank statements for each residential property
Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements
Prepare quarterly report for lenders
Assist in HUD loan audits
Assist in preparing tax returns
Import budgets for residential properties
Provide support to RPMD and site managers
Maintains and creates YSL reports
Update or create spreadsheet reports to improve efficiency.
Qualifications
3-5 years progressive accounting experience
• Finance or Accounting degree preferred
• Advance knowledge of accounting principles
• Proficient with accounting software (Yardi Voyager and SAGE preferred)
• Ability to exercise sound judgment regarding access to sensitive information
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to consistently follow-up with tenants, vendors, employees, and management

Salary $55,000 to $65,000
