Finance Directorโ€“ Commercial Real Estate & Development

Lawrence, MA (Onsite with flexibility to work from the Boston office 1โ€“2 days per week)

$135,000โ€“$150,000 + Generous Benefits

A privately owned real estate investment and development company that has been building and managing properties for over 30 years is seeking a Finance Director to help shape and lead the finance function for its growing portfolio. This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible role where you'll partner directly with executive leadership and help build processes, structure, and best practices from the ground up.

What Youโ€™ll Own
  • Oversee accounting operations across multiple real estate entities
  • Manage property accounting, property taxes, and insurance activities
  • Lead CAM reconciliations across the portfolio
  • Handle construction accounting for three active developments, including a major mixedโ€‘use "live/work/play" project currently underway
  • Develop and manage WIP reporting, lien releases, and asset component tracking processes
  • Build accounting workflows, SOPs, and financial controls for the real estate division
  • Partner closely with the SVP of Asset Management to help establish and scale the finance function
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 2โ€“3 accounting professionals
  • Introduce new ideas, efficiencies, and best practices to strengthen the organization
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across all entities
  • Utilize Yardi to manage accounting and propertyโ€‘related functions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field- REQUIRED
  • Commercial real estate accounting experience, including both property management and construction accounting ideally
  • 5+ years of accounting experience including LEADERSHIP
  • Experience with CAM reconciliations and job costing
  • Handsโ€‘on experience with Yardi
  • Experience building, leading, and developing small teams
  • Strong process improvement mindset and ability to implement best practices
