JOB TITLEJOB TITLE

Senior Interior Designer - Luxury Residential
JOB SUMMARY

You have led luxury homes from an empty lot to the final styled install, and you are very good at it. That is the work we do, and we are looking for someone senior enough to own it.
This is ground-up, high-end residential new construction - full custom homes, start to finish. If your background is decorating, or graphic, industrial, or product design, this is not your role. If you have run true luxury new builds and want to do your best work yet, keep reading.
ABOUT LAURA BROPHY INTERIORS

We are an internationally published, award-winning Newport Beach design studio known for organic modern homes that feel as livable as they are luxurious. Our work has made the covers of numerous publications, and in 2025 Modern Luxury Interiors named us the Best Organic Modern Design Firm in California.
But the recognition is not the point - the work is. We design homes people actually live in, where the light, the materials, and the smallest details are considered down to the last decision. We take on a deliberate number of projects so each one gets the attention it deserves, and we partner with the kind of clients, architects, and builders who care as much as we do.
This is a studio where a senior designer can do career-defining work. You will have the resources, the caliber of project, and the creative partnership of our Principal Designer to make each home exceptional - and a tight, genuinely close team that holds a high bar and loves the work and each other. If you have spent your career wanting better projects and a place that takes the craft as seriously as you do, this is it.
THE ROLE

You will own the day-to-day of your projects. From helping shape the initial concept through construction documents, sourcing, and the final install, you are the designer clients rely on and the team works alongside, in close partnership with our Principal Designer.
What that looks like day to day:
  • You lead. You run your projects with the support of our Principal Designer and keep work moving with our stakeholders - on time, on budget, and on standard.
  • You design. You develop the concept hand in hand with our Principal Designer and carry it all the way through, making the hundred decisions that separate a good home from an exceptional one.
  • You document. You produce a complete, build-ready set in CAD and hold your design intent through every drawing.
  • You source. You specify finishes, fixtures, and furnishings, and you know the vendors and workrooms who can execute at this level.
  • You coordinate. You work shoulder to shoulder with architects, builders, and trades, and you protect the design in the field.
  • You are a face of the project. You help lead client meetings, manage the relationship day to day, and give clients an experience that matches the homes we build.
WHAT YOU BRING

  • Ten-plus years in interior design, with at least five leading true luxury, high-end residential new construction. This one is non-negotiable.
  • A portfolio of ground-up custom homes you took from design development through install.
  • The technical fluency to carry a high-end build through documentation, with strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Deep knowledge of luxury finishes and furnishings, plus the trade relationships that make high-end work happen.
  • The presence to lead a room - clients, builders, and your own team - and the organization to keep it all moving.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Competitive compensation, based on your experience.
  • Medical, dental, 401(k) with company match, and more.
  • A fun, team-oriented studio in Newport Beach.
