This role is critical to keeping projects on schedule and ensuring safe, efficient deliveries. Job Purpose: The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of concrete to our customer's satisfaction. The Ready-Mix driver will operate equipment in conjunction with delivery during the process of loading and discharging concrete. This position also serves as a quality insurance technician who has the ability to adjust the product to meet customer needs and ensure high quality of product upon delivery. The Ready-Mix driver will have a high level of customer service to fulfill needs for the customers and a salesman to continue to generate business.

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Inspects the Ready-Mix truck pre and post-delivery and documents any irregularities, dysfunctional parts and systems and reports issues to the correct personnel.
  2. Communicates and collaborates with the Concrete Plant Operator to receive delivery and route instructions for customer deliveries.
  3. Safely and accurately loads the Ready-Mix truck with correct materials for customer delivery. Ensures continued quality of materials between deliveries.
  4. Effectively fills the water tank on the Ready-Mix truck when needed.
  5. Ensures timely delivery of materials to customer location and inspects job site for any discrepancies with past delivered products.
  6. Efficiently works with customers on site and obtains vehicle access for unloading of products.
  7. Inspects and maintains cleanliness of Ready-Mix truck. Removes and disposes of any leaked material on trucks in the appropriate designated area.
  8. Assists with regular cleaning of Batch Plant and maintains cleanliness of all designated areas.
  9. Operates machine loader and safely loads materials into truck to prepare for delivery.
  10. Perform additional duties as needed.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Valid CDL Class A or B license and clean driving history required.
  3. Must be able to effectively communicate writing and or verbal to customers and co-workers.
  4. Ability to read, interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  5. Experience accurately reading and recording measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools including a tape measure.
  6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  7. Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  8. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  9. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  10. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  11. Ability to use hand and power tools.
  12. Strong skills in Microsoft Office products.
  13. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

  3. Must comply with PPE and safety policies and procedures.
