Location: Near Thomaston, GA

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr

Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:30pm-10pm

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Batch Operator to join our production team near Thomaston, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately staging, weighing, measuring, and mixing raw chemical ingredients to manufacture high-quality liquid and powder soaps, detergents, and industrial cleaning compounds. Safety, precision, and adherence to strict formula batch records are essential to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Batching & Blending: Measure, weigh, and mix raw chemical materials (liquids, solids, and powders) in strict accordance with master batch sheets, formulas, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Equipment Operation: Operate mixing tanks, agitators, pumps, scales, hovers, and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Quality & Quality Control: Perform routine quality checks (e.g., pH, viscosity, specific gravity testing) and take batch samples for Quality Assurance approval prior to discharge.

  • Documentation: Accurately record lot numbers, raw material usage, production volumes, and processing parameters on paper and digital batch logs.

  • Inventory & Material Handling: Stage raw materials for upcoming batches using sit-down forklifts or pallet jacks; maintain proper segregation and labeling of raw chemicals.

  • Safety & Sanitation: Follow all OSHA, EPA, and internal safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain clean mixing vessels and workspace.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience as a chemical operator, batch maker, or blender in a manufacturing environment (chemical, cleaning, liquid processing, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing preferred).

  • Skills: Solid math skills for converting units of measure (pounds, gallons, kilograms) and verifying exact batch ratios.

  • Certifications: Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification upon hire).

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks while wearing required safety PPE.

  • Work Ethic: High attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and reliable attendance for 2nd shift operations.
