Status: This is a full-time; hourly position
Hours: Monday – Wednesday: 3:30pm – 3:00am & Thursday: 3:30pm -11:00pm; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for operating a variety of machines to assist in meeting production demands; includes, but not limited to, Saws (diamond blade and wire), Mausoleum Assembly, Epoxy Applicator and Patcher, Polish Machines, Anchoring/Layout, Core Machines, Drilling and Milling Machines, etc. Must be willing to be cross trained and flex to areas when needed to meet customer demand in production.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Inspect stone for quality and appearance; includes, but not limited to, dimensions, thickness, flatness, squareness, etc.
  • Read production tickets to determine work to be completed.
  • Review work before, during and after various steps in the production process to ensure it meets production ticket specifications; may require the use of patterns and various measuring tools.
  • Apply general knowledge of stone tolerances to repair, mill, apply angle and shape cuts, specific tooling and other detailed work that is required per customer specifications.
  • Use cranes to load and unload work from the machines as needed.
  • Level, brace, secure, wedge and clamp all stone in machines appropriately to meet safety requirements specific to each machine; may require the use of large hammers or pry bars.
  • Index the saw blade to the correct size and dimension based upon the stone being cut.
  • Operate, maintain and program wire saws.
  • Set all project components (floors, walls, roofs, jambs, dividers, doors, granite fronts, bronze doors and windows, steps, benches, anchors, etc.) by applying the correct finishing techniques.
  • Apply working knowledge of epoxy and bonding techniques to adhere various stones and materials together; includes, but not limited to, granite-to-granite, brass-to-granite, inlayed granite, Dutchmen patches, skate board deterrents, stainless steel and/or acrylic inlaid letters, etc.
  • Load, set, operate and unload polish machine in a safe manner with an overhead or jib crane.
  • Install and program specialty patterns and new patterns into an automated machine.
  • Set up, operate and maintain the CNC stone mills.
Requirements:
  • Must obtain forklift certification (training and certification provided by Coldspring for all employees who may be required to operate a forklift).
  • General computer skills, mechanically inclined, and general math skills.
  • General knowledge of software used to program CNC, milling and/or turning machines, i.e. 3D modeling, CAD and/or CAM software.
  • Ability to calculate material needs to meet job requirements and transfer them to the most efficient use of raw materials.
  • Understand general and job-specific stone colors, characteristics, quality and appearance criteria to meet job requirements.
  • Must have good color perception and not be color blind or deficient.
  • Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
