JH/HS Reading Interventionist and/or ELA Endorsed Teacher

Position Summary:

The Reading & Math Interventionist provides targeted instructional support to students who are performing below grade level in reading and/or mathematics. This educator works one-on-one or in small groups to help students develop proficiency in foundational academic skills. The role also includes collaboration with classroom teachers and staff to implement effective intervention strategies and support school-wide academic goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in reading and math based on student needs.
  • Use progress-monitoring tools to assess student performance and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with core curriculum and instructional goals.
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans tailored to student learning profiles.
  • Administer and interpret diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps.
  • Assist in implementing school-wide reading and math programs.
  • Participate in grade-level PLCs and contribute to team-based planning.
  • Support RTI (Response to Intervention) processes and Tiered Instruction models.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support.
  • Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences.
  • Coach teachers and support staff in intervention techniques and instructional strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Valid Montana Teaching Certificate with Reading Endorsement.
  • 13 years of teaching experience preferred, especially in literacy or math intervention.
  • Familiarity with RTI frameworks and data-driven instruction.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to talk, hear, and use hands for instructional materials.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds.
  • Work environment is typically a classroom setting with moderate noise levels.
