Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Python/React (Contract to Hire)

Simplisure is a fast growing life insurance technology tech company that was founded by industry veterans who have more than 20 years of experience. Our mission is to create the most robust life insurance robo-advisor.

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for a 3-6 month contract with the potential for conversion into a full time role. The role requires experience in Python, Django/Flask API, API security, AWS cloud, generative AI experience, and React front end development.

What you'll be doing:
  • Develop and maintain python scripts for automating data processing, API interactions, and system integrations
  • Design, implement, and secure APIs to ensure reliable communication between internal and external systems
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • Previously worked with at least 2-3 startups that raised Seed to Series A
  • Built products 0 to 1 with real users and revenue
  • Product and customer-focused mindset
  • 5+ years of experience with Django/Flask
  • 2+ years of experience architecting and deploying production level solutions in AWS
  • 2+ years of experience with React
  • 2+ years of experience with Docker
  • Experience working with generative AI
  • Proven track record of shipping high-quality code in a fast-paced environment
What We're Looking For:
  • Self-motivated and thrives in a fast paced startup environment
  • Willing to take ownership of projects and feature development
  • Strong communication skills and able to translate highly technical subject matter to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
  • Previous work experience in fintech is a huge plus

Additional Information:
  • Simplisure will not sponsor an applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position.
  • This is a contract to hire position with the possiblity of converting to a full time role
  • Flexible/remote with occasional on-site presence required in Alexandria, VA
  • Must be available 6 hours per week during business hours Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM
  • Candidates must be willing to work on Sundays during release weekends
