Position Summary/Objective
The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) - Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple client accounts across healthcare and senior living environments. This role is accountable for the performance of Environmental Services, Facilities Management, Laundry, and other support service operations within an assigned region.
The RDO ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, client satisfaction, safety, and talent development while driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting regional growth. The position partners closely with site leadership, client executives, and Forefront leadership to deliver consistent service outcomes aligned with Forefront's mission, values, and Service Excellence standards.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a salaried exempt leadership position. Hours may vary based on operational needs, including client meetings, travel, and emergency response. Extended hours and travel are expected to maintain oversight across multiple sites.
Pay Rate
Essential Functions and Duties
- Provide regional leadership and operational oversight for multiple IFM accounts.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Directors, Managers, and Supervisors across Facilities Management and Environmental Services.
- Ensure compliance with all Forefront standards, client requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory agencies.
- Partner with client executives and facility leadership to align operational strategies and performance expectations.
- Conduct routine site visits, audits, environmental rounds, and operational reviews.
- Monitor regional performance through scorecards, dashboards, KPIs, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to address operational, safety, compliance, and quality concerns.
- Oversee budgeting, labor management, forecasting, cost controls, and financial performance.
- Support capital planning, asset management, equipment replacement strategies, and vendor management programs.
- Ensure effective housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, engineering, grounds, and life safety operations where applicable.
- Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and best-practice implementation across the region.
- Support recruitment, succession planning, leadership development, retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, emergency preparedness, and business continuity programs.
- Lead customer satisfaction initiatives and maintain strong client relationships.
- Utilize operational data and analytics to identify trends and improve performance outcomes.
- Support new business implementation, account transitions, and regional growth initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response and provide operational support during critical events.
Travel
General Responsibility as Required for Position
- Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures, including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
- Attends department meetings as required.
- Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certifications/licenses, if applicable.
- Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.

Education/Experience/Training
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Facilities Management, Environmental Services, Operations Management, or related support services.
- Experience leading multi-site operations and managing multiple site leadership teams.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare, senior living, and regulatory requirements including CMS, The Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, life safety, infection prevention, and environmental compliance standards.
- Demonstrates proficiency with work order systems and operational technology platforms to monitor regional performance, analyze data trends, and drive informed decision-making across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated financial management experience including budgeting, labor management, forecasting, cost control, and capital planning.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
License and Certification
- Valid driver's license required.
- OSHA 10 Certification required within six (6) months of hire.
- CHFM, CFM, CHESP, CHEST, or equivalent certification preferred.
