An RDO job, or Rostered Day Off, typically refers to a structured work schedule where employees accumulate extra hours to take scheduled days off. This system is commonly used in industries like construction, manufacturing, and government roles to balance workload and improve work-life balance. Employees may work slightly longer hours on regular days to earn RDOs, which are taken periodically as agreed upon by the employer and employee. RDO policies vary depending on the workplace agreement or industry standards.

This often involves adapting strategies to local markets, managing diverse teams, and addressing any unanticipated operational hurdles. Success in this role requires regular travel, strong delegation skills, and the ability to build trust with site managers and frontline staff. By staying proactive, fostering open communication, and relying on data-driven decision-making, most RDOs are able to overcome these challenges and drive impactful results.
