As a member of our Float Pool, you'll enjoy variety in your work while remaining part of a close-knit breast imaging team. With your home base at our Fairfax Breast Center, you'll provide coverage where needed throughout Northern Virginia, ensuring patients continue to receive timely, high-quality breast imaging services.

What You'll Do
As a Float Breast Ultrasound Technologist, you'll provide outstanding breast imaging services while supporting multiple outpatient breast imaging locations throughout Northern Virginia.
Perform Breast Ultrasound Imaging

• Independently perform high-quality breast ultrasound examinations
• Acquire consistently excellent diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
• Adapt imaging techniques to accommodate patient anatomy and clinical indications
• Ensure patient comfort throughout each examination

Support Breast Imaging Services

• Evaluate sonographic anatomy and pathology for diagnostic accuracy
• Communicate pertinent findings to radiologists
• Maintain imaging quality standards across multiple locations
• Follow established breast imaging protocols and best practices

Deliver Exceptional Patient Care

• Create a calm, reassuring experience for every patient
• Explain procedures with professionalism and empathy
• Build trust with patients during what can be an emotional experience
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers

Thrive as a Float Team Member

• Adapt quickly to different imaging centers and workflows
• Support teammates by providing coverage where needed
• Maintain consistency in patient care across all locations
• Represent Fairfax Radiology Centers with professionalism at every site

What You'll Bring
Required

• Current RDMS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Ability to travel between Fairfax Radiology Centers locations

Preferred

• One or more years of breast ultrasound experience
• RDMS Breast (BR) credential
• Experience working independently in an outpatient breast imaging environment

Compensation
Based on your qualifications and experience, the compensation range for this position is:
$43.35 - $58.65 per hour (plus float differential)
Placement within the range is determined by factors including experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.
